The not-to-be-misssed event of the season: the 15th Annual Holiday Stroll in Ridgefield, presented by Downtown Ridgefield Inc., is Friday, December 5, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This weekend, Ridgefield will be transformed into a Currier and Ives holiday print, complete with horse & carriage rides, strolling carolers, musical performances, ice sculptures, a live performance of A Christmas Carol – and much, much more! For a complete listing of events, please click here.
Many local shop owners, organizations and restaurants have been working extremely long hours to make sure our Main Street is ready for the holidays… please look for the Downtown Ridgefield blue banners in their windows… and visit them during the event.
On Friday, November 30th, at the 13th Annual Ridgefield Holiday Stroll, comedic singer, Nancy Tucker, will be performing two shows for families. Adults and children ages 5 and older will be entertained with her guitar instrumentals and squeaky clean comedy.
These performances, at 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm, are sponsored by the Ridgefield Library but will take place in St. Stephen’s North Hall.
Stop in and be ready to laugh out loud as Nancy performs favorite winter songs with a funny twist.
World Famous Ice Carver, Bill Covitz, will be Demonstrating his Art on Friday Night of the Holiday Stroll
This year’s Holiday Stroll will have world famous ice carver, Bill Covitz, demonstrating his art ~ wielding a chainsaw on an 18 degree blocks of ice ~ on Friday night, December 1st.
Between 7 pm and 9 pm, he will be on the Green near The Toy Chest or in front of Town Hall, creating his masterpieces. Bring your questions and watch the master work!
Here is some of his art:
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on Main Street on Saturday during the Holiday Stroll waiting to hear the holiday wishes of all of Ridgefield’s boys and girls!
Perhaps some of Santa’s elves will be at the Holiday Stroll this year testing toys for all the young girls and boys!
The ice sculptures might even have colors or items embedded in this. This icy candy cane has the colors of the season!
Downtown Ridgefield will be hosting their annual Holiday Stroll on Friday, November 30th at 6pm and all day on Saturday, December 1st. There will horse-drawn carriage rides, musical performances, children’s shows, ice sculpting and much, much more! As always, we’ve heard the Santa and Mrs. Claus are even planning a stop at this year’s Holiday Stroll. If this snow continues, they’ll need Rudolph to get them here!
Mark your calendars and bring your entire family ~ this is Ridgefield at its finest!!
It’s that time of year… time to get the lights strung on the Main Street Trees! And ready for the Holiday Trust Fund’s Downtown Tree Lighting on Friday, November 23rd at 6 pm!
This year, our Main Street Lights Elf, has been working overtime in Ridgefield and Wilton getting power to the people, and his time commitment to us is going to be limited. However, thankfully another elf has stepped-up, and will soon be in the cherry picker stringing the lights in the trees. In times of need, we think Ridgefielders are amazing!
The Holiday Trust Fund is desperately in need of funds to help with the hanging of the lights, the garlands for the lamposts and the electric costs ~ which have been sliced-in-half with the addition of LED lights.
